Didn't put a deposit to reserve the item even though I told him I would require a deposit to reserve the item because he wants to deal only 1 week later and wanted me to go down with to authenticate. Item is no longer available, informed him but he can't accept it.

Then why was the offer accepted? I already mentioned if you can't accept then no deal. Accepting and then cancelling, well no integrity. No one forced you to accept the offer, it is obvious who did not honour the agreement.
